When it comes to your battery, are you a 90er, 80er, or a 60er?

When it comes to your battery, are you a 90er, 80er, or a 60er?

The short version:

  • Most people know that consistently charging your electric vehicle to 100% is a bad idea.
  • To fully charge and discharge the battery repeatedly can reduce its life.
  • It’s common practice to keep the battery between 80% and 30%.
  • Bjørn Nyland is trying to convince people that 80% is too high and that 60% should be the max for normal charging.

Bjørn put together a video clip explaining his theory. Elon Musk has been letting people know via Twitter that 80%, 90%, even 95% is just fine. Have any experience here? Let us know in the comments.

Cowboy up with this classy e-bike.

Solar is taking hold, so incentives may need to let go.
