Nissan IMX

Nissan doesn’t want to rush into anything and might release their second EV in 11 years.

The short version:

  • Nissan is planning to unveil an electric vehicle in 2020, and have it for sale in 2021.
  • It will be the size of the Rouge, have a range of over 300 miles, and do 0-60 in less than 5 seconds.
  • No word on price, towing, or anything else.

I said that I’m losing interest in posting “XYZ company says they will come out with an EV sometime.” stories, but this one seemed a little interesting for two reasons. First, I believe the chances of Nissan bringing this electric vehicle to market are very high. They’re a big company, they already have an EV, and it’s really foolish for any car company not to release an EV at this point. Second, what took you so long Nissan?!? You already had an EV. You had an 11-year head start. You should have been the leader here, and when you weren’t the leader you should have been second or third for sure. Instead, you waited around until the decision was a no-brainer. You’re killing me!
