More Americans Buying Electric Cars Than Manual-Transmission Cars
The short version:
– In a revolutionary feat, electric car sales surpassed manual car sales in the third quarter of 2019
– Electric car sales rates are still low at 1.9%, but have raised significantly in recent years
– There are also much more manuals on the market than electric vehicles, making the latter a popular choice
The sudden interest in electric cars over manual cars indicates a change in the automotive market as a whole. Although the amount of people buying electric cars are still fairly low in comparison to automatic vehicles, there is absolutely a step in the “eco-friendly” direction as electric sales surpass manual sales — with the latter having been a common household vehicle in the past. All in all, I’d expect electric sales to continue to increase as more awareness is spread regarding the many benefits.
