Lordstown wants to sell 2 million motors a year, and the Endurance is how they’re going to do it.
The short version:
- Lordstown Motors has updated their website with more information about their Endurance electric truck.
- The truck will have a minimum range of 200 miles, with 600 HP, a towing capacity of 6,000 lbs, and a top speed of 80 mph.
- Of note, the truck will be all-wheel drive, using 4 in-hub motors.
- Lordstown also has a goal of producing 500,000 vehicles a year.
Lordstown makes a bold move for a relatively unknown electric vehicle manufacturer. To state they are going to produce half a million electric vehicles a year, but also include the non-standard in-hub motors? That’s pretty risky. Granted, Lordstown doesn’t state when they will reach this goal, but it’s a tall order to fill. Combine that with the fact that the Endurance has weaker stats and costs more than Tesla’s Cybertruck, and Lordstown has a very difficult battle ahead. In my opinion, the only chance it has for competing is that the Cybertruck is just so ugly.
