Bollinger reveals the B1 and B2…kind of.
The short version:
- Robert Bollinger welcomes everybody to the event and thanks his team.
- Bollinger drives the B1 onto a stage.
- Bollinger drives the B2 onto a stage.
- Robert invites everybody to take a closer look.
- That’s it.
Seriously, that’s it. I really want to be excited about Bollinger, but it’s getting harder and harder. The longer I watched this “reveal” I more disappointed I became. I was thinking I would write a heated post explaining just how much they messed up this media event. Then I read a comment that changed my mind and changed my opinion of Bollinger Motors. Here’s the deal. I don’t think Robert Bollinger ever set out to become an automotive mogul. He doesn’t have an experienced marketing team (I think), he hasn’t hired a PR firm, and he isn’t trying to compete with Rivian. Instead, he’s a guy that wanted to build the electric truck that he wanted. That’s it. Turns out a lot of people got excited about his idea as well, but he’s still doing it how he wants to do it. So while I (and quite a few others) get frustrated that he didn’t talk about pricing, release date, or ANYTHING AT ALL during this event, that’s just not him. This is a garage project for him and his friends that the rest of us are watching. That’s kind of respectable.
