6 car makers are including the sidewalk in their electric future

The short version:

  •  Ford, Audi, VW, BMW, GM, and Peugeot all have at least concepts for e-bikes and e-scooters.
  •  Some of these companies already have products in the market place.
  •  It’s a huge industry. Bird reached a $2 billion valuation in less than one year of operation.
  •  The prices listed are around $2,500, with BMW being the cheapest at $900.

If you walk into any corporate office you will find a gift store. There you will find stuffed animals, seat covers, t-shirts, key chains, sunglasses, etc. That doesn’t mean that the company is in each one of those industries. True, some of the companies listed above are actually developing these bikes and scooters in-house, but some are also just partnering with other manufacturers. My guess is that most of these will never see actual manufacturing numbers, and those that do will be corporate gifts or sold to die-hard fans.
