The US now has 1.21 Jigawatts of solar power!
The short version:
- Wood Mackenzie and the SEIA published the latest US Solar Market Insight Report on Tuesday.
- According to that report, the United States solar industry now boasts the largest pipeline of utility-scale solar projects in history.
- Right now there are 37.9 gigawatts (sorry, not 1.21 Jigawatts) of contracted solar.
- “It’s no surprise that the U.S. solar pipeline is surging as costs continue to fall and solar becomes the lowest cost option for utilities, corporations, and families,” said Abigail Ross Hopper, president, and CEO of SEIA.
Let’s keep it going! Cost is dropping, demand is increasing, and the market forces are at play. Bring on the clean energy!
