Soon you will be scooting around Golden Gate City with four rental options.
The short version:
- JUMP, Lime, Scoot, and Spin have been granted permits to operate their businesses in San Francisco.
- On October 15th of this year, each company will be able to deploy 1,000 electric scooters for rent.
- As part of the agreement, each company will only use W-2 employees for the operations.
- Skip and Lyft were not awarded permits.
I’m glad that San Francisco hasn’t banned these scooters like some other cities. These are great ways to solve “last mile” issues. Given time and some sensible business operation guidelines, these could be a win for a lot of cities.
