Meet the HSD
An ebike that can make a Home Depot run.
The short version:
- Tern has released a new cargo utility bike. The Tern HSD.
- The HSD is smaller than the GSD, but still very useful.
- Top speed: 20 mph. Range: 26-69 miles. Max load: 374.
- Like the GSD, the HSD can be parked vertically to take up less space.
- Price: $3,000 to $5,000.
When looking at ebikes it’s important to remember that, just like cars, we’re all looking for something a little different. You aren’t going to hop on the HSD and rip up the trails. You will probably never get off and think, “Wow, what a rush!” This is a utility bike. It’s great for commuting, running errands, and getting things done. Like the author states, it might even be a vehicle replacement for the right demographic.
