According to one report by the World Economic Forum, California is taking 3 major steps to be more green.
- By 2020, all new homes must be built with solar panels.
- By 2040, all public buses need to be zero emissions.
- By 2020, California would like to add 1.3 gigawatts of battery storage to
it’s grid.
I think the last two of these are great ideas, and CA should move forward full steam ahead. However, I have a problem with the first one. Obviously, I’m a big fan of solar panels on homes. I beleive it’s the future of energy production, it’s clean, and all the other good stuff. I just don’t like the idea of the government, state or federal, mandating that I have to have them on my house. I don’t like the government taking away my ability to choose. If for whatever reason you hate solar panels, you shouldn’t have to install them.
What do you think? Should California, or any other government, make you go solar? Let me know in the comments.
